Something is always happening in the RuKa JUDO club — the tournament season is peaking toward its halfway point, and before we know it, the school year will end and the summer holidays will begin. Our main highlight is the club tournament on May 30, intended for our youngest judokas and children up to 12.
At the end of April we set out for Blatná, where 12 of our judokas competed. The best performances came from Linda Haisová and Josefína Moudrá, who took first places in the younger pupils' category. Another superb performance, this time among the older pupils, came from Maxim Kleisner, who also fought his way to first place after five wins. Michal Váňa and Jan Voves also made the podium among the younger pupils, both taking 2nd places. Among the older pupils, Tobiáš Hajný scored a 2nd place and Milan Čmolík a 3rd.
Blatná was followed by the Trilobit Cup in Králův Dvůr, split over two days — Saturday for the little ones and Sunday for the big ones. Saturday belonged to the beginners and younger pupils. The beginners were a pleasant surprise, all recording their first wins. Bohouš Kozák and Tonda Kubec reached bronze plaques, while for Filip Jára one win unfortunately meant only 4th place. From the younger pupils, only Michal Váňa took home a medal, earning 2nd place with his performance. On Sunday, the older pupils and juniors fought. Barbora Kadlečková did best, taking home the gold plaque after four wins and one loss. In the younger and older junior categories, unfortunately, no one broke through. So there's nothing left but to push harder in training and try again next time.
