The 2025 competition season has ended for the Dobřany judokas. Before we dive into the new one and welcome the new year, I must mention more successes of our charges. On the last Saturday of November we traveled to a tournament in Beroun. Only five kids from our ranks took part (a big sick list) — three boys and two girls. Despite the major technical problems that accompanied the tournament, we managed to make our mark. Of the boys, Vojta Mareš did best, reaching the bronze medal match after two wins and one loss, where he unfortunately lost. The girls did very well: Pepina Moudrá advanced from her group in second place, then beat her opponent in the semifinal to reach the final. The final match was very even, but luck favored her opponent, so Pepina took a silver medal. The second girl, Linda Haisová, competed in a higher weight category, as she was alone in her own. Undaunted, she also took second place after two wins and one loss.
In December we also organized an inter-club tournament for the younger and older beginners and younger pupils categories. For the littlest athletes these were their first competitions. About 50 competitors from DDM JUDO Stod and RuKa JUDO Dobřany took part, cheered on by their loved ones. The tournament had a Christmas atmosphere, so everything went on with smiles all around. All the competitors received well-deserved rewards — nobody left empty-handed. The young beginning judokas took home their first medals and, above all, valuable experience. The parents were thrilled with their kids' performances and are already looking forward to the next competitions together.
Now all that remains is to wish everyone plenty of health, happiness, and much success in the new year.
