With the spring season we threw ourselves fully into training. After the spring holidays, most of the younger pupils moved up to the advanced judoka group, where they quickly found their feet and joined the more demanding sessions. Their improvement showed immediately at new competitions.
At the end of March we took part in a mini competition in Blovice, aimed mainly at young beginning judokas, for whom it was their first ever. Eliáš Sankot took third place and Dominik Vaicenbacher fourth. The very next day Eliáš competed at a tournament in Mariánské Lázně, taking second place. Next came the Jiří Straka Memorial in Příbram, where Klárka Kadlečková saved our reputation by taking third place.
Then came the Sušice Grand Prix, where the competition group's improvement showed and the younger pupils collected points: Tobiáš Hajný fought his way to first place, Klára Kadlečková took second, and Jiří Rubáš third. In the older pupils' category, Barbora Kadlečková and Karolína Fojtíková competed. Bára was unbeaten and took first place. Karolína finished level with her opponent on wins and points, so the winner was decided by weigh-in — Karolína thus finished second, still gaining important points toward the nationals.
In April we also held a spring camp where the kids built fitness and fine-tuned techniques. The camp also saw the announcement of the best kids of 2024: Michal Váňa and Klára Kadlečková (U10), Maxim Kleisner and Barbora Kadlečková (U12), Václav Kule and Barbora Šmůlová (U14), David Chmelík (U16), Filip Hančík (U18), and Linda Haisová and Josefína Moudrá were named discoveries of the season. To all those honored, and everyone else, I wish on behalf of the whole team: keep up the effort and climb another step higher.
