Christmas time is fast approaching, and with the end of 2024 our competitive judo season is peaking. Before we cross into the new year, let's go back to November, when we took part in a tournament in Blatná. It was intended for beginning judokas in the U-10 and U-12 categories — for some of them their very first tournament. Everyone put on great performances, confirming that we will hear about them again. Tobiáš Hajný and Barbora Kadlečková fought their way to first place, Lenka Samcová took second, and third places went to Max Dezort, Michal Váňa, and Maxim Kleisner. Despite all their effort and great matches, our fine fighters Milan Čmolík and Klára Kadlečková did not place in the tough competition. At the end of November, a tournament in Domažlice still awaits us, with 19 of our competitors taking part — among them Matyáš Kobsa, who represented us at the national championships this year. The 2024 season revealed many young and promising talents whom we have duly taken under our wing, and in 2025 the whole coaching team will give them maximum effort so that they can represent the town of Dobřany well in the future.
I would like to thank all our competitors and parents who helped represent our sports club all year long, not only across the Czech Republic but also abroad. Thanks also go to our partners — the NSA, the Pilsen Region, the town of Dobřany (G2DT) — and a big thank-you above all to PENNY Market, s. r. o.
We wish everyone a beautiful Christmas and a successful judo season in 2025. Karel Fojtík and the RUKA JUDO team
