GROUPS · ages 5–6 · pre-school
Tigers 5–6 — first steps on the tatami.
Judo through play. Pre-school children learn to fall (ukemi), coordination, basic grips, and dojo rules. Training is structured around games, not techniques — joy and trust in movement are the top priority. We focus on children 5–6 years old, in kindergarten or entering first grade. Children can join in the year they turn five.
What a training looks like
- Safe falls (ukemi) — the number-one fundamental in judo and in life
- Coordination games — balance, speed, spatial awareness
- First grips (kumi-kata) with a partner
- Dojo etiquette — bowing, quiet attention, respect for the tatami
- Group dynamics — pair work, lining up, congratulating an opponent
- In-club competitions without pressure — first contest as an experience, not a test
Schedule
- Monday 17:00 – 18:00
- Wednesday 17:00 – 18:00
From September 2026 children may train twice a week (Monday and Wednesday) — for those who want to progress faster. Membership fee scales accordingly.
Children can join in the year they turn five (born 2021 or earlier).
